I liked Sherlocke Holmes. No, it wasn't freaking awesome or anything, but it certainly wasn't Superman Returns bad, either.

Hot Gahbage...

By the way, I agree 100%. Hot garbage.

Third. I can not freaking believe there's going to be a sequel.

Inception, anyone? Thought it was ok, but not pooping my drawers over it like most people.

Here are many bad reviews of this movie: http://www.imdb.com/...er=hate;start=0

Let me start by saying this: I love Christopher Nolan's films, and I've probably been eagerly following him as a director for longer than most people here. Following, Memento, his version of Insomnia, and The Dark Knight are some of my true favorites, and I've seen a lot of movies. I REALLY wanted to enjoy Inception, but it just didn't hook me like I wanted it to... not by a long shot.

I didn't find it to be horrible, but it wasn't nearly as great as it has been hyped up to be. I mean come on... it has reached the #3 slot on IMDb in less than a week... I think it was there only a few days into the release. As of right now, it's right in between The Godfather part 1 and part 2. That's ridiculous. It's pure fanaticism and hype. It was good, perhaps a bit more than good, but it certainly wasn't anything mind-blowing or great. It was far from 100% original and it didn't even execute itself all that well. By the end of the movie, I was asking myself, "So... what was the real point of this movie again??" I was also asking questions like, "What the hell was this guy's addition to the movie, and was it really even necessary??" about certain characters. It just got way too wrapped up in itself.

Sure, some of the special effects were cool, but nothing that hasn't at least somewhat been done before and nothing that I don't remember seeing in the trailer beforehand. IMDb has pretty much every movie ever created, and for people to blow this film up to be in the top 3 is just ludicrous. I can rattle off 50 movies that I'd much rather keep in my collection over Inception.

I do plan to give it another shot, but first impressions are important, and this one pretty much failed in that department.
Go read the bad reviews. Those are usually more honest and truthful anyway. Scroll about 10 pages in and get to the 5 star area. That's where you'll find some realistic, fair, and balanced opinions... not the pure diehard fanboy blind praise and worship. Don't forget, I really wanted to enjoy this movie, BUT I didn't all that much.

Yeah, Just looking back at Nolan's movies, I kinda feel the same way about all of his movies. I leave the theater fairly unimpressed and for some reason the movies tend to linger in your head. With Inception, I left thinking, "I bet if I re-watched that, it would make more sense." but I have no desire to sit through it again. Overly cluttered with characters, overly complex story arc, ultimately pointless.

I liked Inception. I went into it with high expectations, and wasn't disappointed. However, I've talked to others who say this is the best movie ever. I enjoyed it, but it wasn't the best ever. I'd still recommend it, though.

These reviews all make valid points, but some are overly critical. First off, true character development is impossible in movies (unless you want 5-hour movies), only in books. Inception didn't really need character development, IMO. The characters were all disposable and none were really central to the plot (except Leo's role); the focus was more on the three-tiered dream and not the characters. Most of the people writing these reviews don't like Nolan's films period, and I think he has an excellent track record, so maybe I'm biased against these reviews.

23 pages in and we're still taking anything in imdb seriously? i think TDK was #1 on the top 250 before it even came out. TDK is the reason godfather is #2 behind shawshank, cause TDK fans voted godfather down to get it into #1 lol

edit: not that godfather should be #1 (nor should shawshank).. just kinda silly how disruptive a new movie can be to the top of their list.

Dinner with the Schmucks was entertaining and irritating all at the same time. I would recommend it.

For everyone who liked Inception, I would recommend Dark City. I re-watched it today, and it contained so many ground-breaking ideas. The Matrix, Inception, and some bits of Heroes appear to be heavily influenced by this movie.

Just saw Scott Pilgrim vs. the World a second time. That movie kicks major ass. At least for anyone who's part of the Nintendo generation.
